NZ Idol Title Betting...Matt Odds on to Beat Indira

Online betting agency Centrebet says that Matt Saunoa is odds on to be crowned the new NZ Idol.

Levin's Matt is Centrebet's $1.66 favourite to win the title, with Auckland's Indira Moala at $2.10.

Matt has been Centrebet's favourite since Becks exited the competition four weeks ago but both he and his final opponent were rank outsiders when betting opened on the series on August 1.

"Someone out there had a better crystal ball than me because one clued-up punter backed Matt at $67.00 and Indira at $51.00 before the semi-finals started," says Centrebet's Gerard Daffy.

"He had $30 on Matt and $20 on Indira so he'll be hoping Matt gets the chocolates because a Matt win is worth double that of an Indira win. The odds are he'll get his optimum result."
