Hanover ProAm Tees off at Matarangi

The inaugural Hanover Pro Am Golf Tournament is taking place at Matarangi on 8th March featuring more than 140 amateur and senior professional players from throughout Australasia.

The Dunes Golf Resort at Matarangi is the setting for the 44 professionals and 100 amateurs who are playing for a share of the $20,000 total prize pool.

Alan Copeman of Matarangi Beach Estates is delighted with the number and quality of the professionals taking part in the tournament.

“Some of the well-known golfers include Simon Owen, Barry Vivian, Richard Ellis and Stuart Reese from New Zealand. And from Australia; Terry Gale, Bob Shearer and David Good are also competing. The amateur players will be looking forward to playing amongst golfers of this calibre and it is sure to be a great event for spectators. We invite every one to come along and watch the tournament,” says Copeman.

In addition, the amateurs will be playing for a hole in one challenge where a Yamaha Golf Cart and Wave Runner jetski are up for grabs.

Senior professionals from Australasia compete for $10,000 cash and amateurs for $10,000 worth of prizes. The event is followed by prize giving and a dinner at Omara's Restaurant in Matarangi.
