Acclaimed as the best film at Cannes in 2006, Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno’s Zidane: a 21st Century Portrait is a multi-dimensional cinematic experience by two major contemporary artists. It follows the French football star Zinedine Zidane during the entire 92 minutes of a Real Madrid vs. Villarreal match, accompanied by a rich and affecting soundtrack by post-rock band Mogwai. Sitting uniquely between televisual sports spectacle, real-time documentary and contemporary art installation this is a major event not to be missed.
