Glitz, glamour and second honeymoon prize up for grabs at North Canterbury Bride of the Year event

More than 20 women will be gliding the catwalk in Rangiora on Friday competing for the North Canterbury Bride of the Year title.

The event provides the winner with a second honeymoon holiday to the Gold coast.

Organiser Maree Harris of M Factor Events said recent North Canterbury brides had jumped at the opportunity of entering the bride of the year event.

``This had been an annual event for some years but has lapsed for five years and now there is big interest in who will be the winner on Friday night,’’ she said today.

The show will be preceded by a bride and wedding expo of 45 exhibitors.

The brides will walk down the catwalk and will be judged on hair, make up, dress and overall presentation.

``The top five brides will be selected and they will be judged again to make the final three. There is a bridesmaid and flower girl competition also,’’ Harris said.
