Teens wanting better relationships with adults!

A group of Wellington teenagers are initiating a workshop for adults of Wellington about how to get better relationships with the youth of the world.

Em (16), Sebastian (16), and NZ’s young author Eva-Maria (18) from ‘Trust Your Future’ are presenting a workshop urging adults to see it from their side about how to get past teen silence, break bad habits, and generally communicate more efficiently with Gen Y!

The idea was sparked when the ‘Trust Your Future’ non-profit organisation formed, and decided on a nation-wide road show to launch the organisation to New Zealand in late August. These series of workshops will help towards raising money for the road show, where youth will be going around New Zealand cities with workshops for youth and adults to bridge the generation gap, show what youth are capable of, share insights, and bring communities together with an evening gig in each of the cities they visit!

To get people to attend, Em, Sebastian and Eva-Maria are trying a very unique marketing pathway to get to parents - through TXTing teenagers! The group is making school visits in the weeks leading up the event, asking those who would like better relationships between adults and teenagers in society, to get adults to sign up through the website. For every adult a teen signs up for this workshop, Trust Your Future has found a way to track them down and reward them with...well, that’s for the teenagers to know!
