Pacific In Concert
The AARON
MARSTERS ‘PACIFIC IN CONCERT’ is organised by Auckland
University Pacific Island Students Association (AUPISA) to
fundraise support for Pacific Island people in the
University. What better way than to showcase the amazing
Pacific talent that’s on offer in New Zealand. The AARON
MARSTERS ‘PACIFIC IN CONCERT’ is being held on the 8th
of October at Auckland Girls Grammar’s Dorothy Winstone
Centre. The concert will run between 7pm and 10pm, and will
provide a variety of entertainment with support from Niu FM.
Acts range from bands to hip-hop groups to cultural
performances. These include Cydel, Spectrum, Reign of Mercy,
685, Unison and many more!
AUPISA’s aim is to fundraise for the Aaron Marsters Scholarships, awarded to two deserving Pacific students every year to support them in their studies. The event is in the name of Aaron Marsters in memory of his instrumental contribution to Pacific participation in the University of Auckland. Pacific People make up a devastatingly small proportion of university students and consequently in the professional fields. So, support is crucial in these difficult economic times in order to keep Pacific people motivated in fighting against the inequalities in education.
To support the cause and get great entertainment, tickets cost $12 adult, $10 student and $4 for under 5’s. They will be sold at the door of the Dorothy Winstone Centre on the night, or pre-hand at Cultural Space (C-Space) at the University of Auckland. Great value for money and an even better cause!
