2011 STEINLAGER NEW ZEALAND PUB QUIZ CHAMPIONSHIP

The twelfth annual New Zealand Pub Quiz Championship is taking place this Saturday 10th December at Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre, sponsored by Steinlager and Waipuna.

This year 55 teams (of six) from across the country have registered, and are travelling from as far away as Whangarei in the North, to Oamaru in the South, to fight it out for the right to be called ‘Pub Quiz Champions of 2011’! The 2010 Champions 'Steve MacDonald's Bagpipes' from De Post in Mt Eden will be back to defend their title.

Believe It Or Not Director, Brendan Lochead says “We’ve really noticed an increase in pub quiz participation this year, on the back of the hugely popular TV series Nothing Trivial, This show has really normalised quiz nights, which has been great for us, and the venues running our quizzes”. It’s only fitting that this year some of the cast and crew of Nothing Trivial, Debbie Newby-Ward, Shane Cortese, Nicole Whippy, Will Hall, and Murray Keane (Director), will be entering their very own Sex on a Stick Team on Saturday, to compete against the other teams.
