Make My Movie Reaches Head To Head

The Make My Movie competition is coming to an exciting conclusion with two projects vying for the $100,000 to make a low budget feature The Make My Movie project was created by Ant Timpson (48HOURS) and Hugh Sundae (NZherald.co.nz) in association with NZ On Air and The New Zealand Film Commission. It was launched in September 2011 and had over 750 entries from around the country.

The two projects competing for the $100,000 are ‘This Giant Papier Mache Boulder is Actually Really Heavy’; a charming and innovative concept about two slackers who are abruptly transported into a very real Z-Grade Science-Fiction world and have to solve the mysterious of ‘that’ universe to get back to their own - and ‘How To Meet Girls From A Distance’; a funny and controversial spin on the rom-com with a likable protagonist who feels more comfortable meeting women by stalking them. On January 26th, a panel of experts will announce the overall winner of the competition.

The project’s primary goal was to expand on the highly successful 48HOURS film competition model and to promote creativity with people submitting ideas for feature films. An online web-series has been following the entire process and will continue through to the completion of the low budget feature film.
