Super City green lit for ABC presentation in US

ABC in the US has picked up Super City, a comedy presentation, which will be produced by ABC Studios. Super City is an adaptation of the TV3 comedy series of the same name created by and starring Madeleine Sami and directed by Taika Waititi. (See trailer link below)

The ABC adaptation also will be created by Sami who will write the presentation and will star in it. Waititi will direct. Carthew Neal, producer of the original series, is executive producing through his Super Fumes banner, along with Aaron Kaplan of Kapital Entertainment. The Super City presentation is expected to film off-cycle.

Sami and Thomas Sainsbury are currently writing a second season for TV3 in New Zealand. The series is funded by New Zealand on Air. The DVD of the first series is out now at The Warehouse, JBHIFI and Mighty Ape. http://tiny.cc/aokk3
