‘City Surf Series’ 2012/ 2013

NZ Selected SUP representative & Quiksilver Team Rider, Troy Huston & his event company (Function Staff & Events) have put together the 13 week ‘City Surf Series’ starting November 15th 2012 at Auckland’s beautiful Mission Bay. The event is designed first and foremost for fun and fitness, uniting the Watermen, Women and youth of Auckland across 8 disciplines, a great opportunity for the whole family, the enthusiast, the corporate through to the Elite athlete to take part in and enjoy.

There will be 8 disciplines featured in the event including:
• City Nippers - A 6 week Surf Lifesaving initiative for children aged 6-12.
• Grommet Races - SUP/ Kayak Surfboard/ Prone Paddle event for ages 13-17.
• SUP - Elite 12'6 Race, 12'6 Race, 14 Foot Class, SUP Surfboard & Novice
• Surfboard Paddle - NZ's first ever-weekly surfboard paddle race, keeping the weekend warrior fit mid week to increase weekend wave counts.
• Ski Paddle - For the competent ocean ski paddler
• Prone Paddle - An event for the surf lifesaving member and competitor
• Watermen Category - A double discipline event incorporating a surfboard paddle sprint then a SUP paddle.
• Beach Front Fitness - Choose from Low Energy or High Impact boot camp style setup.

At the conclusion of every weeks City Surf Series there will be a social get together at a local food and beverage venue in close proximity to the finish line to receive recognition of weekly results and Epic sponsor spot prizes. For each of the categories there will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize awarded for Male and Female for end of season prize giving. Final standings will be based on each athlete’s best nine scores, highest accumulated total. Prizes will also be given to those in Beach Front Fitness participants who made the most significant progress in achieving their personal health and fitness goals.

A registration pack of $300+ value will be given to all competitors who register online for a 12 week race pack before November 1st. More outstanding registration pack items will be announced prior to Race one.
