Well-known kiwi artist Greg Straight presents an end of year art show and sale at the funky-retro Bella Monte Café in Belmont.

Greg is best known for his strong graphic edge and use of bright hues. It’s his iconic range of limited edition kiwiana inspired prints that have gained him a steady flow of media attention over the past few years and have become sought after pieces throughout the country. (Neon Tiki featured on the cover of Kia Ora in June 2011 along with a 4 page feature article.)

Greg has worked in the field of visual arts for over a decade now and has the flexibility of a number of key styles. His illustrations are always approached with the full image in mind, which is why he has an impressive client portfolio of influential brands such as NZ Tourism, 2 Degrees, Westpac, Auckland Zoo and Huffer.

The event on December 1st will also be the launch pad for Greg’s much anticipated range of kids tee’s and artworks from his new kids label Mr & Sister. It was only a matter of time until Greg applied his graphic skills and humour to children’s products. Mr & Sister is about kids being kids and having fun, which is reflected in the bold, playful designs of this initial range.

I’ve been designing tee shirts for other people for over a decade now and felt the time was right to create a label that offered people a fresh alternative to the main stream.
