Karaka 2013 Video Clips Now Online
The first of the video clips of yearlings headed to New Zealand Bloodstock’s 2013 Karaka Yearling Sales are now available to be viewed online.

In the coming weeks yearling video clips from a number of Studs are set to be uploaded to the NZB website, the first of which were filmed at Pencarrow Stud.

With most of their 25 yearlings – all colts – now filmed and ready to be viewed, Pencarrow Stud’s draft comprises a number of highlights including the Encosta de Lago colt from the four time Group 1 winning mare Ethereal – winner of the Caulfield Cup/Melbourne Cup double – at Lot 132.

The draft will also include three colts by High Chaparral, four by Darci Brahma, and a number of other leading sires represented including Bel Esprit, Commands, Flying Spur, Pins, O’Reilly, Stratum and Zabeel.
Another stud with yearling videos now online is Mark & Denny Baker’s Hallmark Stud. Hallmark Stud is offering a draft of 30 yearlings at Karaka 2013 including the Pins colt at Lot 255 – a half-brother to San Bernardino whose dam Miss Katella is a half-sister to Group 1 winning sprinter Gee I Jane and Group 3 winner Miss Jessie Jay – dam of Group 1 winners Katie Lee and Banchee.

With a strong draft of 36 yearlings, Curraghmore Stud has 10 entries by the hot sire Fastnet Rock in its Premier Sale consignment, plus a half-sister to the tough Group 1 winning filly Rollout the Carpet by Henrythenavigator at Lot 284. Most of Curraghmore’s yearling videos will be available to be viewed online this week.
Westbury Stud has had 64 yearlings filmed with most clips now online. Their draft includes some of the first Southern Hemisphere yearlings by Red Giant – the world record holder over 2000 metres – and the first crop of yearlings by Group 1 winning Australian sprinter Swiss Ace. Both sires stand at Westbury Stud and have 39 and 29 yearlings respectively at Karaka 2013.

Other studs scheduled to have their yearlings filmed and posted online include Brighthill Farm, Rich Hill Stud, The Oaks Stud, Valachi Downs and Wentwood Grange.
