Coromandel Artist Barbara von Seida's Solo Exhibition at Mairangi Art Centre

The 2 week exhibition "Expression in Colour" which is currently showing at the Mairangi Art Centre (MAC --North Shore) is the first solo show that of multi award winning Coromandel artist Barbara von Seida has held in 6 years.

The opportunity to exhibit at the MAC was her prize in being runner-up the the Premier award at the Hibiscus & Bays Art Awards held last November.

The competition judge Terry (T J ) McNamara, in opening Barbara's exhibition on 02 March, commented enthusiastically, by saying( in part):
"This is a rich, almost overwhelming exhibition of completely convincing paintings" and concluded by adding "What you are seeing is the work of a very, very accomplished painter."

The exhibition which consists of 37 acrylic paintings of land and seascapes plus florals, is representative of Barbara's painting work over the last 8 years.

Where: Mairangi Art Centre, 20 Hastings Road, Mairangi Bay and is open Sat-Sun 10am - 2pm, closing on Sunday 13 March.

Barbara's Gallery (Kowhai Watercolour Studio) just outside Coromandel Town is open to the public most days, and Barbara will be a participant in this year's Coromandel Arts Tour over the weekends 9/10 and 16/17 April.
