Mrs Brown turns Christchurch Green

A new Christchurch landmark is about to join the St Patrick’s Global Greening
initiative – and we have a special Irish guest to officially turn on the switch!

Each year, during the approach to St Patrick’s Day in Ireland, the world begins to turn green as part of Tourism Ireland’s initiative called the Global Greening.

Over 150 stadiums, statues, palaces, towers, bridges … and piers will be illuminated green in honour of Ireland’s national day.

This year Christchurch will join the party, as New Brighton Pier illuminates green in celebration. And what better celebrity is there to officially turn the bridge green, than none other than Mrs Brown herself, in the form of Brendan O’Carroll.

Brendan is currently in Christchurch performing his Mrs Brown’s Boys stage show – Good Mourning Mrs Brown

- Tuesday 15th March
- assemble at New Brighton Pier from 7.30pm
- includes short words from Christchurch City, Tourism Ireland and Brendan O’Carroll
- followed by questions, meet & greet and …
- the official greening at approximately 8.20pm
