ANZAC films on screen at the Archive

A season of ANZAC films and documentaries begins today at Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision, the New Zealand Archive of Film, Television and Sound in Wellington.

The programme includes the recent graphic-novel-style animated documentary 25 April, by Kiwi director Leanne Pooley.

It also features Field Punishment No.1 – a film based on the ordeal of New Zealand’s first conscientous objectors including Archibald Baxter, the father of poet James K. Baxter.

In the unique For King & Country compilation, visitors can view rare historic footage of New Zealand’s WW1 experience at home and abroad, from the archive of Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision.
