||
South Island screenings are possible, thanks to help from the Ethnic Communities Development Fund of the Ministry for Ethnic Communities.
The film is a strong representation of female voices in Chinese cinema, “Her Story” is both an emotionally resonant and socially conscious movie directed by acclaimed female filmmaker Shao Yihui.
This is the second year the NZCLW Trust has screened a Chinese language film as part of the week’s celebration of Chinese language and culture.
Tickets can be obtained at https://www.nzclw.com/film-screening-2025 - the screenings are free, but space is limited.
The week runs from August 31 to September 6 and is a celebration of Chinese language learning and culture.
This is the 11th year that New Zealand Chinese Language Week has been held.
The New Zealand Chinese Language Week Trust was formed in 2014 by a group of academics, politicians, and business people who wanted to encourage the learning of Chinese language.
