APRA Maihoa Award finalists, Dillastrate continue their deep dive into love with the English version of their new bilingual single ‘So In Love’ - a vibrant neo-soul track.

Crafted by bandmates Henare (H) Kaa (Ngāti Porou) and Tim Driver, ‘So In Love’ comes out two weeks after the reo Māori version that dropped for Mahuru Māori. The track has a distinct Aotearoa shed party groove with the feel of Silk Sonic and Motown’s golden era of soul.

‘So In Love’ is a personal story about love, with the duo leaning into their intimate sides for this summer anthem-in-the-making.

“This track is dripping with love and lust,” says Driver. “It’s got a Wrecking Crew vibe, filled with real instruments and nostalgia.”

Kaa says the feel of the song is reflected in the visuals, echoing the shed party spirit.

“It’s the early hours of the morning and you’re falling in love – it’s all a bit humorous but still beautiful. That’s the vibe we wanted, bringing the sweet seductive sound of soul music home to Aotearoa and to sheds across the country.”

‘So In Love’ is the first taste of Dillastrate’s upcoming EP, due later this year. Both the English and Māori versions are available on all platforms now.
