Hamilton’s favourite festive forest is back for its 19th year – and it’s bolder, brighter, and more creative than ever.

From 10-19 December, The Meteor Theatre will once again open its doors to the iconic Trees at The Meteor – a celebration of creativity, compassion, and community spirit.

This year’s event invites you to wander through a gallery of creations from local artists, schools, families, and community groups who have used their upcycling skills to create imaginative works.

But Trees isn’t just about the trees, of course. Beyond the chance to wander the Nancy Caiger Gallery and choose favourites, there’s plenty of festive fun: pose with friends and whānau for deliberately awkward family photos, enjoy a hot chocolate and cosy café treats, and bring along a t-shirt to be upcycled with a custom Trees at The Meteor print design.

And because ‘compassion, not consumption’ is the theme of this year’s event, entry is koha – making this exhibition of inventiveness even more accessible for everyone. The support of sponsors and the community has also made possible a range of prizes to be awarded to winning trees, judged by the visitors and a panel of local creative powerhouses.

Saturday 13th & Tuesday 16th – Friday 19th December, 6:30pm-9pm
