2025 New Zealand Netball Awards Celebrate Excellence Across The Game |

Netball New Zealand has today announced the winners of the 2025 New Zealand Netball Awards, recognising outstanding achievement, leadership and service across all levels of the game from community volunteers to elite athletes and officials.
The awards celebrate the excellence, passion and commitment, highlighting the people who continue to shape and strengthen netball throughout Aotearoa.
The sport’s most prestigious honour, the Dame Lois Muir Supreme Award, was presented to Karin Burger this award recognises the best netballer across all elite competitions and Silver Ferns campaigns. Kate Heffernan was named ANZ Silver Ferns Player of the Year, capping off an exceptional season on the international stage, while Te Ata Hassan claimed the Synergy Hair National Netball League Player of the Year award following a standout domestic campaign.
Rising star Khanye-Lii Munro-Nonoa enjoyed a standout year, taking out both the PUMA Aspiring Silver Fern Award and NZU21 Player of the Year, underlining her impact and promise on the national stage.
Maddy Gordon was recognised by fans nationwide, receiving the JBL Silver Ferns Fan Favourite Award, while Peta Toeava was named ANZ Premiership Player of the Year.
Coaching and officiating excellence were also celebrated, with Donna Wilkins awarded ANZ Premiership Coach of the Year and Kristie Simpson and Gareth Fowler named joint winners of ANZ Premiership Umpire of the Year.
At community and pathway level, Avah Sila was recognised as Netball Smart Secondary Schools Player of the Year, while Geni Ah Tong received Synergy Hair National Netball League Coach of the Year honours. Caleb Binns was named G.J. Gardner Homes National Netball League Umpire of the Year and Anne Harrison received the G.J. Gardner Homes Outstanding Contribution to Netball by a Technical Official Award.
Volunteers remain the backbone of the game, and Netball New Zealand proudly acknowledged their contribution with the following honours:

· WM New Zealand Volunteer Coach of the Year: Emily Amey
· WM New Zealand Youth Volunteer of the Year: Isabella (Izzy) Harrison
· WM New Zealand Volunteer Community Champion of the Year: Lahraine Sagaga
Netball New Zealand congratulates all award recipients and nominees, and thanks everyone across the country who continues to contribute to the success, growth and legacy of the game.
