13-Year-Old Wellingtonians Organise Fundraiser “Kids Rock 4 Sudan”

A group of 13 year-olds in Wellington are once again turning passion into action with the launch of Kids Rock 4 Sudan, a one-day, youth-led music fundraiser dedicated to supporting children and families affected by the crisis in Sudan.

Following the success of their previous event, Kids Rock 4 Palestine, which raised over $10,000 for children in Gaza, lead organiser Eddie is now focused on raising vital funds for emergency aid and community-led initiatives in Sudan. These include support for displaced families and programs assisting women and children facing the impacts of conflict.

“Kids Rock 4 Sudan is about showing that young people care,” says Eddie. “Music can be a powerful way to take action, and compassion has no age limit.”

The event will take place on 3 May at Meow in Wellington and will feature live performances by young musicians, creating a vibrant, youth-driven space for solidarity and awareness.

Funds raised will go to Hope and Haven Refugees, supporting their work with displaced communities.
