Inspired Impact launches new-look website

Inspired Impact Teachers’ Conference launched a vibrant new website Friday 18 June to coincide with the opening of registrations for 2011.

The website has received well over 100 hits and registration requests are already flooding in.

Conference Director and Principal of Palmerston North’s College Street Normal School, Ross Kennedy, developed Inspired Impact after attending teachers’ conferences that didn’t live up to his expectations or meet teachers’ professional development requirements.

He saw a gap in the market for an interactive and informative teachers’ conference developed specifically for New Zealand teachers by experienced teaching professionals and Inspired Impact was born.

The inaugural two-day conference, held in Palmerston North in January 2010, attracted over 1,000 registrations and was described by many attendees as “the best professional development opportunity in years”.

The 2011 conference is shaping up to be even bigger with five keynote speakers, including internationally renowned creativity expert and best-selling author Sir Ken Robinson, and over 80 workshops focusing on conference theme Developing the Whole Child.

Robinson’s vision and expertise is sought after by public and commercial organisations worldwide.

His contention is that traditional education systems are “educating people out of their creative capacities” with devastating effects.

Developing the whole child is about acknowledging and facilitating diverse learning styles and fostering creativity.
