Civil Defence has declared a state of emergency following the Christchurch Earthquake. All schools and early childhood services in Christchurch City are closed until further notice.

The primary consideration is everyone’s safety and well-being.

Schools and Early Childhood Services in Waimakariri and Selwyn Districts

The Ministry’s strongest advice is to remain closed on Wednesday 23 February to allow time to assess the situation. The primary consideration is everyone’s safety and well-being.

You should advise your parent community of the situation and should consider having at least one person available in case students arrive at your school or ECE service because they didn’t get the message.
