Computing Courses In response to Demand

Aoraki Polytechnic has responded to demand from local business and is now offering computing short courses servicing the Timaru, Oamaru and Ashburton areas.

“Computing skills are a necessary and vital part of business. Having sound knowledge of computing programmes makes many tasks easier for both employers and staff, creating greater efficiency, accuracy and better presentation of documents,” says Aoraki Polytechnic’s Head of School for Business Andy Walne.

Thirteen new Microsoft Office computing short courses are being offered at Aoraki Polytechnic Timaru Oamaru and Ashburton Campuses. The short courses will run over a half or full day. Microsoft Office programmes being covered include:

Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Outlook
Microsoft Publisher
Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft Word

Not only do participants receive useful and applicable computing knowledge, each student will receive a work book. Courses are not assessed and a record of attendance is provided on request.
