Free Breast Screening Has Never Been So Easy |
||
22 February 2011
There has never been a better time for eligible women to get their mammograms in Hamilton.
From 1-4 March, Breastscreen Midland is staffing a mobile clinic for drop-in appointments at the city centre’s Countdown supermarket carpark any time between 9am-3pm.
“It’s a new year, the kids are back at school and it’s a good way for women to do something positive for themselves to start 2011 off on the right foot,” said Waikato District Health Board Screening Services manager Clare Coles.
“There is no need to book an appointment and it’s free.”
If you are a woman aged between 45 to 69 years of age, have no symptoms of breast cancer, haven’t had a mammogram in the past 12 months and are not pregnant or breastfeeding, then the mobile clinic at Countdown (on the corner of Bryce and Tristram Sts in Hamilton) should be booked into your diary next week.
“If next week doesn’t suit or women would feel more comfortable going to a clinic, they can make an appointment at Waikato Hospital’s Breast Care Centre, Anglesea Women’s Health or Med Imaging by calling 0800 270 200,” said Mrs Coles.
