The Tuesday Wire Hosted By Kim Choe
26th February 2008

12:00 bNews, Weather and Surf

12:20 Water, water, everywhere – but who pays?
Manukau residents look set to have the structure of their wastewater charges changed, if Manukau Water's recommendations to the council are accepted. The new structure will be based on a user-pays model rather than the current flat-fee scheme. Kim asks Manukau Water's communications manager Mark Reynolds to explain.

12:40 Kosovo – going it alone
It's been just over a week since Kosovo declared independence from Serbia. In that time we've seen effusive congratulations from some of the world's leaders, but also violent protests in Serbia's capital Belgrade, which have forced the evacuation of non-essential US Embassy staff. To shed some light on the history surrounding current events, Kim is joined by Dr Jim Headley from the University of Otago.

1:00 Beyond the Blue
Kim talks to actresses Sigi Taylor and Pippa Neel about a new play opening at the Town Hall's Concert Chamber this weekend, Beyond the Blue, it's described as "a journey of self discovery and transformation by women who have dared to push the boundaries of their safe existence."

1:40 The Green Desk
Sustainable Simon will be talking to James Whelan of 'The Change Agency' about mobilising activists and communities to achieve the outcomes they're fighting for. The Change Agency are based in Australia but recently visited NZ. They'll be back in April to hold some workshops on the subject of "Mobilising for Change".

Aucklanders can tune in at 95 on the FM dial.
