A sunny evening brought out a large crowd for the first free event of the Festival of the Arts – an outdoor dance duet between a man and a digger; a mixture of dance, danger, technology and moments of rather improbable emotion.

One was left with the impressive of a machine (and operator) with, if not as much spriteliness or personality as its human partner, at least as much grace.
