News examining the issue intensified throughout Wednesday and led to the Prime Minister issuing a statement admitting a security/intel retrospective investigation occurred, but no suspicious circumstances were discovered.

Also, New Zealand Police have received a complaint to investigate allegations that Fiji defector Ratu Tevita Mara committed torture crimes while attached to the Fiji military regime led by Frank Bainimarama. Tevita Mara is currently in New Zealand.
