The Green Party launched its conservation policy at Parliament this morning.

The plan calls for more legal protection plans for endangered species and ecosystems, increased funding for the Department of Conservation and expanded pest control programmes.

Green co-leader Metiria Turei indicate these, and other Green election policies, could be negotiated with any incoming government. But both she and conservation spokesperson Kevin Hague criticised the actual of the current government, particular with regard to reducing the funding and capabilities of DOC.
