Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom has been granted bail. He had previously been considered a flight risk but a decision released today accepted he had "every reason" to stay in the country.

Bail conditions forbid Dotcom from using the internet or helicopters.

He was arrested in January as part of worldwide action againt the Megaupload website. All four of those arrested in New Zealand have now been bailed pending extradition hearings.

Dotcom had previously announced plans to appeal after being refused bail.
