In Wellington’s Civic Square on Wednesday the seventeenth of November a vigil was held for those lost and injured in the attacks in Paris over the weekend. French flags were flown and music and conversation punctuated the somber occasion. A minute of silence was held. More>>

According to polls, a third of Republican voters in Iowa want Islam to be criminalized. Unfortunately, the cornfields of middle America aren’t the only place that ‘Islam’ is being blamed for the terrorism attacks in Paris.

Presidential contender Ben Carson for instance, wants it to be made illegal for a Muslim to be elected as President of the USA. For the Republican Party at least, freedom of religion in America extends only to tolerating many ways of accepting Jesus Christ as your personal saviour. In reality of course, treating Islamic State as the essence of Islam makes about as much sense as treating the Ku Klux Klan as the essence of Christianity... More>>

Paris Attacks: ‘Care And Concern’ To The People Of Paris From NZ

Sunday: The Mayor of Wellington Celia Wade-Brown has extended condolences from the capital city to the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, in the wake of Friday’s terrorist attack.

“Our care and concern has been extended to the Mayor of Paris and all French citizens through New Zealand’s French Ambassador, HE Mrs Florence Jeanblanc-Risler, and directly to the Mayor’s Office in Paris,” she says.

The French tricolour is flying at half-mast above the Wellington City Council building today and the Michael Fowler Centre will be lit up in French colours tonight. More>>
