- POSSIBLE CHARGES / MPs DAUGHTER The daughter of Annette King may face charges after she was involved in a serious head-on crash late last year while driving a Ministerial car.

- GAME SHOW STAR DIES Selwyn Toogood, known for It's in the bag, has died at age 84.

- CHCH POWER PRICES Lines company Orion is set to remove fixed lines charges for residential, and small to medium sized businesses. The cut is predicted to eventuate in a $50 / year saving for the average residential customer.

- ONAWE FERRY The much loved ferry which was taken in the small hours of the morning yesterday by an unauthorised employee on a party is now back to its normal utility. The employee is facing disciplinary action and criminal charges.

- 105 YEAR OLD Gladys Landery who turned 105 years old yesterday has the blood pressure of a 20-year-old and lungs of a teenager according to her doctor despite her age.

- BIOSECURITY CHECKS Farmers are calling for improved checks on the boarder of British tourists, however MAF says there is no need for special procedures.
