NZ Parliament delegation promotes trade with Korea

The New Zealand delegation to the 122nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly has completed a successful visit to the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea in Seoul.

During the visit the delegation met with members of the National Assembly and officials to discuss a variety of topics including trade, education, and climate change.

The delegation took the opportunity to discuss the current FTA negotiations and promote trade between New Zealand and Korea.

Delegation leader the Hon Pete Hodgson said New Zealand has a strong relationship with Korea, and visits between the countries help to strengthen and enhance that relationship.

“There were some valuable exchanges of information between two countries looking to learn from each other. We look forward to continued parliamentary exchanges in the future.”

The other members of the delegation are MPs Dr Cam Calder and David Clendon.

The delegation is now in Bangkok attending the IPU Assembly.
