UnitedFuture Submits Party Registration  Application

UnitedFuture leader PD says his party will submit today to the Electoral  Commission more than 500 individually signed declarations from party members in support of its application for re-registration.

"Party members have responded extremely well since the Electoral Commission decided to treat UnitedFuture as a new party for registration purposes," Mr Dunne says.

"It has taken us just 19 days to secure the 500+ signatures - a remarkable achievement by our party volunteers.

"By contrast, the Commission has told us it will now take its professional, paid staff 6 to 8 weeks to check the validity of a small random sample of memberships before approving our registration.

"This is as unreasonable as it is ridiculous.

"Even if it was to check every one of the memberships, not just a sample, it would not be unrealistic to expect the process to be completed within five working days," Mr Dunne says.
