Libertarianz Deputy Leader Richard McGrath says instead of appointing Sylvia Cartwright as the new GG, we should instead sever formal links with the dysfunctional and inbred part-English Royal family. "Let us not waste this opportunity to transform NZ into a constitutional republic,” opines McGrath. “Ms Cartwright should not merely the latest local incarnation of these double-recessive chinless wonders.”

Dr McGrath is in any case scathing of what has been touted as Ms Cartwright’ s achievements. "She has been hailed for her hand in creating the office of the Health & Disability Commissioner, and for the Code of Patient Rights. The first of these is just another bureaucratic black hole for tax dollars - a blunt instrument with which to beat doctors and others in the health industry – while the second is simply a fraudulent, bogus nonsense."

Libertarianz want the office of governor-general abolished and constitutional restraints imposed on government to protect the individual liberty of all New Zealanders.
