Sleepover settlement possible

Following an offer by IDEA Services, we are delighted that a possible settlement to the sleepover issue has been reached, subject to the approval of government, union members and IDEA Services.

IHC chief executive Ralph Jones says that details of the settlement cannot be announced until approval and ratification.

The settlement will apply to all current employees of IDEA Services who have done a sleepover, and will include a move to the minimum wage for sleepovers, over time.

“We hope that union members accept the proposed settlement. Both the union and IDEA Services have made considerable concessions to get to this stage.

“We are applying to the Supreme Court for an adjournment of the hearing set down for 13 September,” says Mr Jones.
