The National Network of Stopping Violence, Te Kupenga, issued a media statement for White Ribbon Day 2012 earlier today (Sunday 25 November 2012).

Brian Gardner – the National Manager of Strategic Relationships and Advocacy at Te Kupenga – was quoted in the media statement which highlighted his involvement as chair of the White Ribbon organising committee and as a White Ribbon ambassador.

Mr Gardner’s comments were on behalf of Te Kupenga – the National Network of Stopping Violence – and were not on behalf of the White Ribbon organising committee or the Families Commission.

Mr Gardner apologises for any confusion which may have been caused by this error.
