Waipareira to host Political debate

Waipareira will host Te Tai Tokerau and Tamaki Makarau candidates in a Political Debate on Thursday September 11.

Hone Harawira (Mana), Kelvin Davis (Labour), Te Hira Paenga (Maori Party) standing in Te Tai Tokerau as well as Kereama Pene (Mana), Peeni Henare (Labour), Rangi MacLean (Maori Party) and Marama Davidson (Greens) standing in Tāmaki Makaurau will participate in the debate that could ultimately decide the two Northern Māori electorates.

Whanau Centre – home to the Waipareira services - in Henderson, is the perfect backdrop to gather, as Waipareira is within both electoral boundaries.

Homai Te Pakipaki host Brent Mio will MC the debate, adding a unique Māori flavour to the proceedings.

This will be one of the last opportunities for these candidates to convince whānau of their worthiness.

Doors open at 5.30pm.
