New Zealanders drug use and work ethic

The New Zealand Policy Institute was disappointed this morning to hear the Prime Minister’s comments on our country’s people.

CEO Faero Wheeler says, “In an act of inverse Trumpism, our Prime Minister seem to be indicating that for all our drug-use and uninterest in work, some of us might be good people.”

Our Prime Minister is incapable of not conflating different labour market needs from sources. He also seems to be incapable of not saying base things about his own country’s populace.

“We’re increasingly seeing the current government move further back towards the years of Shipley and Richardson. Punitive measures on the poor, and any economic model that can have the word growth added to it is worthy,” says Faero Wheeler.

The NZ Policy Institute would like to see the Prime Minister apologise for his disparaging remarks, and invest time in working for all New Zealanders, regardless of his narrow view of many.
