"Generation Climate Change" message to voters

Wellington-based The Folk Today Project is running a Facebook advertisement asking people to vote for the next generation: the children who will be affected by climate change.

They call these children "Generation Climate Change" in the manner of Generation X and Y.

They say to voters "Now is our time. This is your chance".

The advertisement has a potential audience of three million New Zealanders of voting age.

The campaign theme is taken from The Folk Today Project’s new song and video “Earth Anthem 2017”. The anthem points out that the nations met* in 1995 to combat climate change. Since then there’s been a lot of talk. Now, experts say that 2017 is the year that irreversible extreme weather events will begin**. Folk Today say it’s time for government to seriously get to work with significant anti-climate change measures.
