At a very successful AGM held at the Shada center, Tuakau, the NZ Outdoors and Freedom Party re-elected Hine Afeaki as President, Sue Grey continues as Leader while several new board members were elected to take the party through to the next election. A number of policies were intensively debated including issues such as nitrates in drinking water, healthy solutions such as clean water, healthy food and environment. Hugely debated was the effects of pine forests on people and the rural community, also the minister of fisheries proposed fishery regulations and their long term effects on the fishery.
The NZ Outdoors party discussed the costs on the community from forestry slash and the health negative effects from pine pollen and a course of action was decided on. The party also agreed to support the strengthening of BORA (bill of rights act)
The party continued to have a good membership and resolved to contest the next election with a number of candidates.
