Total Solar Eclipse to be Broadcast at Carter Observatory

On March 29 there will be a Total Solar Eclipse visible from parts of South America, parts of Africa, Egypt, Turkey and parts of Russia.

The eclipse will not be visible in New Zealand, however the public can experience the event at Carter Observatory, the National Observatory of New Zealand.

A live feed from NASA’s telescopes in Turkey will be relayed, along with experienced New Zealand astronomers to discuss and explain the stages of this unique phenomenon.

The events for the evening start at 20:30, with Totality occurring at 23:00.
