Where: St John’s Anglican Church, Launceston, TAS.
Details:
A memorial service to honour the life of Corporal Richard Atkinson, killed in action in Afghanistan on 2 February 2011.

The service will be closed to the media at the wishes of Corporal Atkinson’s family.

Defence will capture imagery of the service on behalf of the family and provide to media on a pool arrangement after the service.

Defence will not be providing a spokesperson today to comment on the service.

The memorial service will be attended by Federal, State and Defence leadership.

Corporal Atkinson’s remains will be cremated.
