For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Cloud increasing with a few showers developing in western areas today. Becoming fine tomorrow.

For Wellington: Mainly fine at first. Cloud increasing this evening with a few showers developing. Tomorrow a few showers clearing and becoming fine.

In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Mostly fine but about Wairarapa late showers are possible. Tomorrow, a few morning showers clearing and becoming fine.

Nelson and Marlborough: Scattered rain developing about Nelson and the Sounds this evening, elsewhere dry. Tomorrow, mainly fine.

South Island west coast: Rain clearing from the south tonight. Becoming fine to most places tomorrow.

Canterbury: Showers and southwesterlies this evening. Becoming fine inland tonight. Becoming fine everywhere tomorrow.

Otago and Southland: mainly fine inland. Cloudy at times about the coast with a few showers clearing overnight. Mostly fine tomorrow.

Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy with showers.
