rain later today.

Waikato to Wellington, also for the central plateau and Bay
of Plenty: Cloud increasing with a few showers developing.

Gisborne to Marlborough: Fine apart from high cloud.

Nelson and the South Island west coast: Drizzle about Nelson
and Buller. Further south rain becoming widespread.

Cloud thickening about Canterbury and Otago, scattered rain
expected over Southland.

Chatham Islands: Fine periods.
