Residents' View Wanted On Annual Plan

Views of residents on the Christchurch City Council draft annual plan are being sought.

The plan will be available from the Civic Offices, service centres and libraries from tomorrow, Thursday 19 April. Highlights of the plan are contained in the Council's City Scene publication due out next week. This will contain a submission form on the plan's suggestion for the use of the Orion funds. Also to be considered is the Council's Draft Strategic Statement that is published every three years. Submissions will close on Monday 21 May and then the Strategy and Resources Committee will hear oral submissions and consider written submissions. On Thursday 12 July the Council will meet to finalise the annual plan. This year's draft plan includes a 2.20 per cent average increase in rates.

NB: A media briefing will be held by the chairman of the Strategy and Resources Committee, Cr. David Close, on Thursday 19 April at the Civic Offices, Tuam Street, at 9am.
