Free Funding Expo

A free Funding Expo being held on Friday 22 June 2001 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Petone Workingmen’s Club will attempt to answer the many questions that communty groups may have about funding and sponsorships.

Questions like ‘how do ‘Not For Profit’ community organisations access corporate sponsorship?’ ‘what are the best fundraising opportunities?’ ‘should we become a Trust or Incorporated Society?’ will be answered.

It is hoped that members from a range of community groups in both Hutt City and Upper Hutt City, including sporting and leisure, arts and cultural, welfare, youth, older people etc. will attend this ‘one stop shop’ Funding Expo. The day will include two keynote presentations and a range of funding related ‘workshops’. Funders will be also be available to answer questions and there will be displays and other relevant information available.

Community groups regularly identify the need for quality funding information and the Funding Expo will aim to provide this. With the ever-decreasing availability of funds to community organisations it is important that the community are aware of the funding that is available and target any funding applications to achieve best effect.

The funding Expo is proudly supported by the Community Trust of Wellington, the Community Development Group of the Department of Internal Affairs, the Funding Information Service and by the Hutt City and Upper Hutt City Councils.

The funding expo is free, however registrations are essential, as places are limited. Please phone Caroline O’Loan, Hutt City on 570 6527 or Richard Lindsay, Upper Hutt City on 527 2174 to obtain a registration form.
