In the last 3 weeks more than 6,500 Porirua and Kapiti
people have signed the petition to support Kenepuru
Hospital.
Regional councillor Robert Shaw said this level
of support showed the public had a clear vision and wanted
to see action.
"It is great to have Porirua and Kapiti
working together on the same project and strengthens our
appeal to the Minister of Health. "
The petition asks the
Minister of Health to develop Kenepuru Hospital and improve
the accident and emergency facilities at
Paraparaumu.
"Councillor Turver and I would like to thank
the collectors and shop owners who are working hard to make
the petition a success. We wish to acknowledge particularly
the work of elderly people."
"We have set a target of
15,000 and hope that it can be achieved by the end of
September close date."
"Anyone else who wants to help is
most welcome to join the team and may phone me at home (ph
233 0252)" Councillor Shaw added.
