New Zealand String Quartet
Riding on a wave after its stunning presentation of the Complete Beethoven Cycle in six centres around the country in 2000-2001, the New Zealand String Quartet will perform: Barber's Quartet Opus 11 and Borodin's Quartet No 2 in D. Overview: Berg's hidden letter to his lover "a small monument of a great love", Barber's quartet which introduced his famous Adagio to the world, and Borodin's romantic memento for his wife, containing the well-known Nocturne. 8pm, Century Theatre, Napier, Hawkes Bay
