Sponsorship Seminar for Manukau Arts Groups

Sponsorship Seminar for Manukau Arts Groups

The fourth in a series of subsidised arts management seminars in Manukau is now open for registrations.

Focusing on sponsorship for community arts groups, the seminar will be held on Thursday 28 November, 9am to 4.30pm at te tuhi – the mark, Reeves Road, Pakuranga.

Council’s Creative Communities Funding co-ordinator Jeanine Gribbin explains that the seminar will teach participants the secrets of sponsorship and how to give your group the competitive edge in gaining sponsorship.

“Finding sponsorship is a real problem for a lot of our artists and arts groups. It takes time and energy and requires a certain skill to secure the funding you need, particularly as more and more organisations compete for support from the same funding bodies.”

Presenter, Heather Newell, is a leading speaker on sponsorship in New Zealand and is the author of The Beginners Guide to Sponsorship. Heather is a regular speaker to community organisations and has a wealth of case studies and ideas for not-for-profit groups.

Heather’s company, Foresee Communications Limited, also publishes industry journals, Sponsorship Profile and Fund Raising in New Zealand.

Manukau arts groups are encouraged to take up this opportunity provided by the Manukau City Creative Communities Committee and the University of Auckland.

The seminar cost is $35 per person. Spaces are limited. For a registration form call Jeanine on 262-8900 ext 8941 or Tara Werner on 373 7599 ext 5023.
