Boo at the Zoo - 'trick or treat' with a twist!

Boo at the Zoo - 'trick or treat' with a twist!

Auckland Zoo – the most intriguing, fun, and safe place for your kids to ‘trick or treat’ on Halloween Thursday 31 October!

We’ll have goodies galore for the kids, and the opportunity for children and grown-ups to take a walk on the wild side and meet tarantulas, bats, frogs, centipedes and wetas - creatures that play very special roles in keeping our eco-system in balance.

As well as these fabulous keeper encounters, children can also ride the 'ghost train', experience all the magic of the Zoo at night, and meet wild and wonderful witches and magicians.

There'll be giveaway treats for children and those who come dressed as their favourite Halloween character can enter the costume competition to win some great prizes.

"Our aim is to provide a safe, fun and stimulating environment for children to trick or treat, so that parents can relax and still let their kids enjoy the thrill of Halloween night," says Auckland Zoo events co-ordinator Ana Green.

"Rather than wandering the streets knocking on strangers' doors, children will receive goodies from Zoo staff, and experience a really great, festive evening."

Auckland Zoo will be open until 8pm for this special event. Parents are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the first evening event on the Zoo's summer calendar. Dinner can also be purchased from Darwin's, the Zoo's café.

Normal Zoo admissions will apply. Friends of the Zoo members will receive a 20% discount off entry prices.
